Product name: Elf Prep and Prime Hydrate Balm
Is it Cruelty free: Yes, and so is Milk Makeup for that matter…
Price: £8.99 is the cheapest I found in Superdrug, but watch out for deals.
Shade range: This is a clear balm, it has no tint, it’s transparent. So it’s brown girl friendly yayayy!

My thoughts:
My first thoughts were, though I’ve never used the Milk Makeup cooling stick this does sound like a dupe. But since, I’ve never really used the Milk Ice Stick, I can’t really do a side by side comparison .
But what I can say is that,I’ve loved using it to hydrate skin, both on top of makeup at work, instead of a mist, which don’t get me wrong- I do Love ( but this bar smaller so fits in the handbag, especially whilst travelling.) plus a mist has a tendency to go everywhere, and some inevitably ends up on my hair. Which is fine on most days…I still love a good mist. ( I have a collection that would rival Imelda Marcos’s shoes) but for a spot application under the eyes, or a subtle daytime work appropriate sheen…I’m loving this.
Plus whilst its soft it doesn’t shift makeup and somehow so cooling and hydrating so a great touch up under the eyes- it cools the eyes down whilst hydrating them. It says prep, but I don’t think it’s a great primer. I find it is particularly brilliant when I’m spending long days on the computer, or roasting inside my office (thanks to this glorious but, too hot for me heatwave that we are experiencing), or flying. It’s great for the latter, as its under the liquid threshold in weight, plus as it’s a solid stick…it actually doesn’t count towards your liquids allowance; unless you are flying out of Manchester Airport- who I swear are a law unto themselves!
